Las Vegas (KSNV MyNews3) -- How many people signed up through Nevada's Silver State Exchange? By deadline, fewer than 13,000 Nevadans signed up for health insurance.

Will they be covered? That's a question of payment. As of Friday, only half of that nearly 13,000 had paid for coverage. To be covered by Jan. 1, you need to have paid up.
So, what does all of this mean? Well, if you consider the target enrollment of 118,000 by the end of March, Silver State officials concede getting those numbers is going to be a challenge.
The bottom line: sign up, or face fines.

Another note: the new health care law freed up states to expand Medicaid eligibility, and Governor Sandoval agreed to do expand the system. So, some people of that targeted 118,000 could end up being a part of the Medicaid expansion. We will know more on the results of the expansion in March.
