, Las Vegas’ favorite charity, is looking for volunteer train conductors to drive the Forest Express Passenger Train during the holidays at the Magical Forest.
Beginning in October, conductors will drive the Forest Express as it’s decked out in Halloween finery for Opportunity Village’s “HallOVeen”, a family-friendly event open weekends throughout October beginning Friday, Oct. 3 (Fridays through Sundays, 5 to 9 p.m.) and Thursday and Friday, Oct. 30 and 31.
Then in November, the Magical Forest will transform for the holiday season with hundreds of dazzling decorated trees and millions of brilliant holiday lights, entertaining visitors with activities and attractions Nov. 21 through Jan. 4, 2015.
Approximately four minutes long, the Forest Express travels nearly 1,000 feet roundtrip on a small-scale railroad track and can carry up to 35 passengers.
Hired Forest Express Conductors will receive on-site training. Driver’s license is not required; however, volunteers must be at least 18. Safety Orientation Classes:
Wednesdays beginning Aug. 13: 6 to 8 p.m.
Saturdays beginning Aug. 16: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
