LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Two businesses were damaged by fire this morning in a strip mall on Spring Mountain Road near Decatur Boulevard.
The Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded at 4:19 a.m. at Seoul Plaza in the 5000 block of Spring Mountain. The owner of Mike's Shoe Repair had called 911 because he had light smoke in his business. The owner was in the business working at the time.
Crews found a smoldering fire in a repair machine and attic space, and the entire business flashed over with fire.
A second alarm was called as a precaution, but the fire was quickly controlled with the first alarm.
The damage to the business was estimated at $75,000. There were no injuries associated with this fire.
There was some roof damage above the Volcano Tea House because of ventilation that will affect their business. The other businesses should be unaffected.
