LAS VEGAS (AP) — Two adults accused of fleeing a Las Vegas mobile home fire while their three young children perished are due to face a judge Wednesday morning on second-degree murder and felony child neglect charges.

A grand jury last month indicted 22-year-old Shane Gouailhardou and 26-year-old Amy Hatzenpiller on charges that could get them decades in prison.

The two were arrested separately.

Gouailhardou's 2-year-old son, David Gouailhardou, and Hatzenpiller's children, 2-year-old Skylar Lafia and 15-month-old Aryana Lafia, died in the June 15 fire at a trailer park several miles northeast of downtown Las Vegas.

Authorities allege the two unmarried adults were too impaired by methamphetamine to rescue the children.

Investigators think the fire could have been sparked by a smoldering cigarette or by a child with a lighter. An exact cause wasn't found.
