They need to start going after jaywalkers big time,I walk 80@ of the time and I refuse to cross unless it is at a lighted crosswalk and if it takes me extra time then my life is worth that extra few minutes or steps. I see people jaywalk and they are only 20 steps from a light.. And if you jaywalk w/kids it should be a CHILD ENDANGERMENT charge as well if you don't proect your children who will?

I agree that pedestrians need to be Xtra cautious. At the same time, motorists, especially those who live here and aware of the number of pedestrian deaths need to be Xtra cautious as well.

Pedestrian are not safety cautious. Many of these pedestrian are crossing were drivers least expect it, they are wearing dark clothing, and are not crossing when traffic is clear. Pedestrians need to start using cross walks, wear clothing that is visible at night, and quit playing chicken with vehicles. Drivers will not see you till about 25ft, that is not enough time for any driver to stop when they are not expecting too.
