Pedestrian struck on Strip in critical condition

LAS VEGAS (Las Vegas Sun) -- A man was struck by a van Friday afternoon outside Harrah’s along the Las Vegas Strip, Metro Police officials said.

Police said the man is in critical condition and was transported to an area hospital. Police said the crash occurred around 4:25 p.m. Northbound travel lanes along Las Vegas Boulevard South are closed starting at Flamingo Road.

Police could not confirm if the man was in a crosswalk and are working to determine the cause of the accident.
