LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A Cirque du Soleil performer who fell Friday night during a live performance of "Zarkana" at the Aria Resort and Casino is stable and is expected to make a full recovery.
The fall occurred during the 7 p.m. performance when an artist performing in the "Wheel of Death" act slipped and fell off the wheel.
The show was halted and the artist was transported to UMC where he is in stable condition and is expected to be released from hospital in the next few days, according to a release from Cirque de Soleil.
It was five months ago when a performer was killed when she fell 94 feet during "KA" at the MGM Grand.
The death of Sarah Guillot-Guyard led to changes in the show and just earlier this week Cirque du Soleil and MGM Grand were fined a total of more than $30,000 for safety violations after an OSHA investigation.
