LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Police have identified and arrested a 53-year-old man in connection to a woman found stabbed to death Sunday at a Las Vegas residence.

According to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department news release, officers responded to a home just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Silver Knoll Avenue to investigate a family disturbance.

Arriving officers made contact with a male suspect, later identified as Ricardo Glasgow, covered in blood and standing in the front yard of the residence.

When officers began moving toward Glasgow and commanding him to surrender, he fled back into the home.

Officers pursued Glasgow into the residence where he was found holding a knife. Glasgow was physically subdued and arrested.

Officers also found an adult female inside of the residence suffering from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. Responding medical personnel transported the female victim, later identified as Sharron Jones, 49, of southern California and Glasgow’s girlfriend, to an area hospital where she ultimately died from her injuries.

During their investigation police determined Glasgow was wanted on an outstanding California warrant for parole violation stemming from an attempted murder charge in 2005.

Glasgow of Los Angeles was arrested and charged with open murder, resisting a police officer with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, and fugitive warrant from another state. He is currently being held in medical segregation within the Clark County Detention Center.

This investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with any information concerning this incident is urged to contact the LVMPD Homicide section at (702) 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.

We need to do something about these stabbings. We should ban all new knife sales and make it illegal to have anything sharp not locked up. Just think, we could have saved a life here if we had outlawed knives! We need to do something NOW people, becasue this is the obvious problem here!
