LAS VEGAS (Las Vegas Sun) -- Metro Police Gang Crimes detectives arrested a man on Tuesday who was suspected of taking part in two gang-related shootings at the Rio and University Medical Center on March 11.
Las Vegas resident Abdullah Sykes, 24, was charged with four counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon and battery with a deadly weapon for his alleged role in the incidents.
Officials said the first shooting occurred around 3:50 a.m. on March 11, at Rio’s East parking garage. Officers arrived to find multiple people shooting at each other both on foot and in vehicles. A 22-year-old North Las Vegas man involved in the shootings was killed.
Then at 5:38 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of shots being fired at UMC and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Sykes was booked at the Clark County Detention Center.
