LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Metro Police officers today made and arrest in homicide of a man found dead outside a residence Tuesday morning in the 5100 block of Margo Drive, near Harmon and Nellis.

The LVMPD Dispatch Center on Tuesday at 8:48 a.m. was advised an individual who appeared to be deceased had been found near the front door of a residence in the 5100 block of Margo Drive in Southeast Las Vegas.

The individual reporting this event to police also provided the description of a male subject who had been observed leaving the area on foot.

About six minutes later an alert patrol officer who was en route to the call observed an individual sitting in front of a residence less than a block from the scene of the crime.

The officer believed the individual to be acting in an unusual manner, and observed what appeared to be blood on his face and person.

Based on these observations the officer made contact with the individual, who has been identified as David Magyar, 62, of Las Vegas.

While this was occurring other patrol officers arriving at the scene on Margo drive located the victim, a black male adult, who was deceased from apparent blunt force trauma to the head.

The investigation into this incident revealed both the victim and Magyar resided at the residence where the victim was found, and Magyar had committed this crime.

David Magyar has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center, charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon. His mug shot accompanies this release.

The identity of the victim, and the exact cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone with any information concerning this crime is urged to contact the LVMPD Homicide Section at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers by phone at 385-5555 or on the internet at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
