HENDERSON (KSNV MyNews3) -- For now, a local man isn't facing charges for shooting another man over the weekend. Police say the shooting was likely in self-defense.
It all started when a woman who lives at an apartment off Green Valley pkwy and Warm Springs went to a party and fought with her boyfriend. Police say the woman dropped her boyfriend off at his house and went home. Investigators say she then asked a neighbor to come over in case her boyfriend showed up.
Police say the boyfriend did show up at his girlfriend’s apartment, tried to kick down the door, then crawled through a window.
According to police, the neighbor warned the boyfriend to stop and threatened to shoot. The boyfriend ignored him, and that’s when the neighbor shot and killed him.
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson now has to decide if he'll charge the neighbor. Police say the shooter is cooperating with them. They are not releasing his name since they have not arrested him.
