LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A Mountain’s Edge neighborhood is trying to come to terms with a tragedy at one of its homes where three bodies were found Friday. Police on Saturday said they suspect a mother killed her children with a knife and then stabbed herself.

The Clark County Coroner has identified the dead as 40 year old Hae Chong Serrra, 11 year old Hope Stream Serra and 9 year old Cory Yoon Serra.

Outside their home on Wolf Pack Lane where their bodies were discovered, a memorial started to grow Saturday night with candles and stuffed animals.

The child who is being talked about by neighbors is Hope. The girl would play with the neighborhood children, and one mother, Christa Watson, is having a tough time trying to come to grips with the situation and comfort her daughter about the situation. Hope and her daughter were playmates, and spent a lot of time together.

“‘Is it hope? Is there something wrong with Hope?’ And I said ‘Yeah’, I said ‘Yeah’, and I said ‘You know what? It’s okay’, and ‘I love you’, and ‘We're going to have a little prayer’ and we did and she felt better,” Watson said.

Recently she and her daughter attended Hope’s birthday party and she saw no indication of any problem that would even lend itself to this violent outcome.

“I just love my kids. And I know hope's mom loved her kids. I saw it. She talked to them. She played with them. She took them to the pool. She took my daughter to the pool, and the only thing I can think is something out of nowhere. Something snapped,” Watson said.

Doug O’Brien misses Hope too. The child would love to come to his home with other neighborhood kids to play with his dogs and use the swimming pool. He would give the children a dollar bill on Sundays.

“Fun loving little girl. Always running around the neighborhood always running and yelling on the bicycle and skateboards, etc. and always coming, I mean every day she'd ask me for a dollar,” O’Brien said.

Neighbors are now shaking their head, wondering what really happened in the Serra home.

“I hear you don't love anything more than your kids and to do anything like that it just gets me so upset talking about it, because it's like, those are your babies. Something was going on that we didn't know about,” said neighbor Megan Ruane.

Neighbors say the Serras’ kept mostly to themselves, but those who did get a chance to meet them, say they seemed very nice. Now that children are dead, that has been the most difficult for neighbors to absorb.
