LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Electricity has been restored to hundreds of NV Energy customers in the Torrey Pines & Washington area after a 3:15 a.m. accident in which a car hit a power pole.

Metro said a car hit a power pole on Torrey Pines north of Rainbow around 3:15 a.m., causing the outage. Two people were transported to UMC Trauma with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Residences and businesses in the area lost power for several hours. An NV Energy spokeswoman said that power was restored at 10:44 a.m. to the final 175 customers who were still without power.  She said several thousand customers had possibly been affected initially, but most had power restored within 45 minutes.

NV Energy also had an outage due to a bad cable near Sahara and Decatur. The outage began at 2:50 a.m. and power was restored by 8:50 a.m.
