LAS VEGAS -- Today there is a sobering-wake up call for Rawson-Neal Hospital as we continue our coverage of the alleged patient dumping at the psychiatric facility.
Now, the feds are cracking down on the hospital. News 3's Marissa Mike is here with more on a letter sent to Nevada health officials saying they could lose significant federal funding if they don't start complying with federal regulations.
Key word is could. Nevada health officials have 10 days to create a corrective action plan to fix their policy of busing discharged patients out-of-state.
Out of the 1,500 cases reviewed, state health officials found as many as six cases that were improperly handled.
If state officials don't fix the problems, Rawson-Neal could lose tens of millions in federal dollars.
