LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – The Clark County coroner’s office said today that the remains discovered Sunday by a hiker in Boy Scout Canyon near Hoover Dam were that of a man who had gone missing more than a year ago.

David J. Miller, 27, of Las Vegas was last seen at the home he shared with his parents in Las Vegas on Sept. 4, 2011. His vehicle was located almost a week later in the parking lot of a Henderson store on West Sunset near Marks Street.

Missing persons website The Charley Project said that Miller had suffered from depression and was suicidal at the time of his disappearance. The cause of death has not yet been determined by the coroner.

After Miller's car was found, at least one witness came forward reporting that they remembered him getting a bicycle out of his car, and riding away on it. That report has never been confirmed, but it would be interesting to know if Boulder PD had a bicycle out there.

There is a hiking/bike path that goes thru Henderson and up to Boulder City, so not unreasonable that he made it that far.
