Chancellor Rodgers, Kudos on your station's position. The mining industry is the Imperialist Nation, to the "State of Nevada Colony". Shame on our legislators who allow such pillaging of our natural resources, being paid a few pieces of silver, under the guise of "campaign contributions" to turn a blind eye. Your dedication to the interests of Nevada is again evidenced in this quest as before in your service to NSHE and attempt to improve our broken healthcare system - all of Nevada should take note and praise your efforts rather than attempting to shoot the messenger!

This guy makes millions and millions of dollars in ad revenue on which he pays virtually no taxes to the state of Nevada. I wonder if Reed Cowan will run that story next? For him to go after another industry like this is just a smoke and mirrors tactic to make sure his own taxes don't go up. This piece is just another example of Jim Rogers attempt to puff up his own ego and distract us from his own impropriety.

However, you mocked Nevada Mining's ads within your segment. What did you think their response would be? They did not bully you not to run those stories, did they? It's not blackmail when they pull their ads AFTER the story has run. It's a common-sense response when they pay you money to run their ads, and you completely throw it back in their faces in front of your audience. If you don't support the mining industry, you could have refused to run their ads in the first place or stopped them anytime they've been running for the past year. Everyone has their price. That is the Las Vegas way. Why else do you think Casino's here pay the lowest tax in the country. Black Mail works for them!

It's nice that News 3 stood up to the mining companies. But, theres always a but!!!! Every 2 years the state legislature goes after the mining compaqnies for more tax money, just like they do with the casinos, even more so with the mining companies. I don't blame them for getting teed off. Lets ask this question, when is the last time sandoval or the state legikslature actually tried to do the hard work and balanced the budget. They have all been using the sunset tax that was supposed to sunset. Thios tax has all kinds of tax and fee increases to businesses. How about letting the sunset tax do just that and sunset!!!!! Every 2 years they try to tax the hell out of us. For example, motorcycles that are not set up for street, they want those registered and taxed. They already paid taxes on them when they bought them. Why do they have to pay more taxes when they don't use the roads. No I do not have a dirt motorcycle..How about the 18 yr old kids that they are throwing in jail for selling bottled water on the strip. Got any idea how hard it is for these kids to get a job in this economy. Who the heck cares if they have a business license if thier selling bottled water, the state legislature so they can tax the poor kids!!!! Give me a break. BALANCE the budget instead of raising DMV fees again sandoval!!! Why are we still paying a 100 dollars for license plates for a 20 yr old vehicle. Why do they they want to raise taxes again for Metro when they had a SURPLUS 2 years ago. Maybe they shouldn't have built that fancy new station that has to pay utilities and everything every month. Nobody thought to figure that in. DUHHHHH!!!! How about the tax increase we voted down and they say thier gonna go against the voters and raise the taxes anyway. LIKE HELL!!!!!

Mr. Rogers, I love the way you have chosen to stand up to the mining industry!! Our legislators need to follow your courageus example. I agree with the previous comment "now go to Carson City and hold the legislature's feet to the fire, and make them accountable - by name- for their votes on making Nevada mining pay it fair share." Please continue to follow this story and report the truth about what is really happening.

I'm very proud of Jim Rogers and News 3. It's about time someone showed the people of Nevada how mining owns their legislature. Keep up the good work. I will be sure to watch regularly and support your other advertisers.
