LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- A romantic ride in a Metro police helicopter could cost the department public support.

Clark County commissioner Steve Sisolak tells News 3 that a Guns N Roses guitarist getting a ride on the public dime isn't sitting well with taxpayers.

Sisolak says the sheriff wants to get to the bottom of this quickly.

The two met Monday to discuss several issues and of course this topic came up.

Sisolak said the sheriff was irate about what happened.

Three days ago, a picture surfaced on Guns N Roses guitarist DJ Ashba's Instagram profile.

It's a picture of him and his girlfriend in what looks like a helicopter.

The caption reads special thanks to the Las Vegas police department for the most amazing private tour over Vegas.

Ashba proposed seemingly on the taxpayer dime.

Metro has now launched an investigation to find out if the correct policy was followed for the ride.

According to Metro's fly-along policy, passengers from the department are limited to people who are required to be flown for official business.

Civilian fly-alongs are said to be at the discretion of the section lieutenant.

Sisolak says this comes at the worst time for the department that's asking you to pay more taxes to fund more cops.
