LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- It was a Christmas eve shootout at a local apartment complex that left one man dead and a family injured.
Today, the man living with that family tells us they are doing okay.
News 3's Christine Kim joins us with new details.
We spoke to Tylor Farley on the phone, the man whose name is on the apartment lease.
He says he was out of town when the incident happened but he found out through his friends and he returned to find he can't go into his home because its part of an investigation.
On his Facebook page, in a post written on Christmas Eve, a statement says that his roommates are in the hospital because they were defending their home. Police say their baby was not hurt.
Farley says they had just moved into the apartment less than a month ago.
Metro police say on the morning of December 24, three armed men and a woman knocked on an apartment door of a complex on Rainbow near Cheyenne.
Police say they got in and found a couple and their infant inside. Detectives believe they attempted to rob and also *beat both of them.
When the suspects fled, police say the victims both grabbed handguns, followed them out, and shot at them. One of the four suspects, Maurice Howard, 35, died at the hospital. Metro says the other three are still at large.
One neighbor who claims he was the first person who ran to the scene says he heard about nine gunshots and saw people in front of that home.
