Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign gets early start

Now that Thanksgiving is over non-profits are gearing up for the next big holiday. From now through the end of December, the Salvation Amy bell ringers are asking for donations. And as news 3's Denise Rosch explains, they still need volunteers too.

Organizations such as The Salvation Army have faced some major challenges with funding cuts and donations slowing down.

Just recently, The Salvation Army had to shut down some programs that helped the homeless and mentally ill.

Despite the challenges, the organization is still working hard to help those in need. One major effort around the holidays is the Red Kettle Campaign.
