LAS VEGAS (KSNV My News 3) – The Clark County School District has the tough job of helping local children deal with a tragedy that hit one of their classmates.

A student at Hoggard Elementary School arrived Monday morning and told his teacher that his mom and sister were dead,

Police went to the home and found the bodies of the woman and her daughter at the house near Rancho and Washington.

News 3 confirmed that a 4-year-old boy and an injured man also were found inside. That man was taken to the hospital. Metro has not called him a suspect.

Metro also is telling the public there is no random killer on the loose.

The Clark County School District released a statement Monday, which said in part, "Our leaders and community at Hoggard Elementary School struggle to sort out emotions and details of a tragedy that claimed the life of a student at home this weekend.

“While we leave details of this tragedy to our police officials, the district has begun mobilizing our crisis response team to help our students process this tragedy once the information becomes public."
