LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Clark County School District officials say three out of every five children qualify for food assistance.

That's approximately 189,000 students who get reduced or free lunches, but only on weekdays.

The Serving Our Kids Foundation is sending bags of food to kids to make sure they don't go hungry over the weekend.

Each week, hundreds of bags go out to 20 valley schools.

Volunteers include local children who know some of their peers aren't as fortunate as they are.
