NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- A crosswalk with a tragic history could soon be a little safer.
This weekend an event called "Shine a Light for Mia" will raise money for flashing lights in that area.
Mia decker was hit by a car at the intersection of Camino Eldorado and bent arrow in North Las Vegas back in October. She died two days later.
As News 3's Denise Rosch reports, local business owners are now doing what they can, to prevent another accident.
The participating businesses for “Shine a Light for Mia” include:
- Villa Pizza Durango - Large Cheese Pizza for $9.95 ($3.50 off)
- Mobile Command Detail Car Wash: Superior car wash for donation (Saturday Only)
- GiGi's Cupcakes: Gourmet cupcakes for donation (Saturday Only)
- Round One Boxing: Fitness Boxing Classes ($35 for unit normally $75)
- 1-800 Flowers: Flower Bouquet for $20.00 (Pick Up Only on Tuesday)
- A Dias Salon: $10 Manicures
- Let it Roll Skate Shop: Discount on gear
- C-Q Nails: Discounts on Manicures and Pedicures
- Angel Tails Mobile Dog Grooming: Nails clipped for donations Friday and Saturday
- Divas Las Vegas: $1 raffle tickets for drawing for ticket pairs
