LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – The survivor of the shooting Tuesday night at a residence near Smoke Ranch and Jones will be booked for three counts of murder, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced today.
James McCarty, 54, will be transported from the UMC Trauma Center to the Clark County Detention Center after recovering from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Metro responded to a call of possible shots fired in the 2200 block of La Sombra Street. According to a news release from Metro, arriving patrol officers observed a considerable amount of what appeared to be blood on the back patio of the home as well as what appeared to be bullet holes in a window.
SWAT Officers entered the residence and discovered two adult women, an adult male, and a dog deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Another adult male was located in the residence suffering from severe head trauma. He was transported to the UMC Trauma Center by medical personnel.
The investigation by the LVMPD Homicide Section into this incident indicates all four victims are related and the shootings are possibly the result of a domestic disturbance.
The identity of the deceased victims as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office. This incident remains under investigation.
