NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- A motorcyclist has become the eighth traffic fatality in North Las Vegas this year.

Johnston Graves Overbey, 41, was killed about 3:45 a.m. Sunday near Donovan Way and East Craig Road.

The police report said arriving officers found an unresponsive 41-year-old man lying near the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicated that he was riding a 2005 Harley Davidson southbound on Donovan Way from East Craig Road when he lost control of the motorcycle. Evidence suggests the vehicle left the roadway and the rider was thrown from the motorcycle. Speed is believed to be a factor in this case.

The Clark County coroner said that Overby died of blunt force injuries and ruled the death an accident.
