LAS VEGAS (KSNY MyNews3.com) -- Metro's SWAT team responded Saturday morning to a standoff event in a residence in the southeast valley. Six hours later they found the house was empty.
The event was near South Maryland Parkway and East Pyle Avenue in the 1000 block of Keystone Pastures Street. It began about 9 a.m. Saturday.
"We had a call about a resident seeing a man with a rifle and then he heard some noises upstairs in a house that is supposed to be vacant," Metro Lt. James Mizusaki told News 3. "So we locked down as a barricade event and brought in the SWAT team, which is the protocol for such a situation."
SWAT went into the residence about 3 p.m. and found nobody was in the house, Mizusaki told News 3
Escondido between Pyle and Haleh avenues were closed for hours because of the situation and some residences were evacuated.
