LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Heavy rainstorms that prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood warning for Las Vegas east of Interstate 15 have dissipated.
The flash flood warning expired at 2:30 p.m. and became a general flood advisory for the east side of the valley.
At 12:24 p.m., NWS Doppler radar indicated very heavy rain from a thunderstorm near Silverado Ranch, or near Henderson Executive Airport.
The storm was producing very heavy rain was moving north at 25 mph but more storms were forming to the south.
Locations impacted include: Henderson, Sam Boyd Stadium, Silverado Ranch, Green Valley, east Las Vegas, the Silver Bowl and Nellis Air Force Base.
Some streets in the south end of the valley had up to 6 inches of water about 1:30 p.m.
Flash flooding is nature's number one killer. Never try to cross a flooded roadway or walk through flood waters. Turn around, don't drown!
