LAS VEGAS -- The manhunt is over for the shooter who caused last week's carnage on the Las Vegas Strip that ended up with three people dead.

News 3 sources say that suspected murderer Ammar Harris has been taking into custody in the Los Angeles area.

Authorities confirm he was hiding in the home of a woman he knows. Los Angeles Criminal Apprehension Team had the house under surveillance and went in this morning.

Harris was arrested without incident.

Over the weekend Police identified Harris, 26, as the man they believe pulled the trigger and located the black Range Rover at his home at an apartment complex off Flamingo and Paradise.

Police say Harris has an extensive criminal history, including charges of sexual assault, robbery, kidnapping and other charges police say are associated with prostitution.

A source close to the investigation says officers found shell casings that match those used in the shooting and paperwork linking Harris to the Range Rover.

This is a breaking story. News 3 will have more information as details become available.

Sheriff said Harris doesn't represent the values of Las Vegas. That was a lie. If it were true Harris and those like him (pimps) would not be allowed to operate here with impunity. Cherry and Harris were both "well know" pimps. Well with them being so well know (everybody knew what they did) and they were not in jail for their crimes but instead were operating out in the open on the Las Vegas strip presumably with the full blessing of the office of the Sheriff it should come as little surprise to anyone that this sort of situation would eventually come to pass. It really takes some kind of nerve to stand up and say these people don't represent the values of this town when anyone with a brain can see that they clearly do represent the exact values that are allowed to operate in our town and further have the full blessing of the office of sheriff right up until they do something embarrassing. Metro: "We caught him". What a joke. "We" let him get away and the FBI and LAPD caught him.

HOORAY!!! Another "baddie" taken off the streets....hope this kind of stuff doesn't keep happening, because the economy is just starting to get back on track, so news of this kind is not good for tourist season.
