LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – A suspect in a double shooting on the west side is expected to appear Monday morning in an Arizona courtroom.

A 29-year-old woman died about two hours after she was shot about 11 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of Altamira Road, near Alta and Buffalo drives. A man, 28, was injured and was reported in stable condition at UMC Trauma.

Troy White, 44, surrendered at the Prescott (Ariz.) Detention Center late Friday. Officials in Yavapai County said he walked into the facility and told an employee what had happened in Las Vegas. They verified the information with Las Vegas officials, obtained an arrest warrant, arrested him and booked him.

White is being held in the infirmary of the jail, but officials declined to answer questions about his medical status. Dwight D'Evelyn of the sheriff's office said an initial court appearance was likely "first thing on Monday morning."

Metro said they believe White is the husband of the woman who was killed.

Officers were notified about the shootings shortly before noon Friday when a neighbor called. A 10-year-old boy came to the neighbor's home and said his mother had been shot. Investigators found four children ranging from 6-months to nine years inside of the residence. They were not harmed.

Authorities ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
