Take challenge, try eating for less than $20 per week

LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- A program to raise awareness about the difficulties faced by the 360,000 Nevadans who receive food stamps kicked off today.

The program is the SNAP Experience and challenges participants to eat healthy and balanced meals for five days for less than $19.

Today Mayor Carolyn Goodman came out in support of the event.

She's taking part in the challenge along with North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee, and Boulder City Mayor Roger Tobler.

The program takes place from January 27 to 31 and Registration begans today.
