LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- News 3 spoke with a young man who says he's the victim of a civil injustice.

News 3 first brought you this story exclusively in May of a boy who was punched in the face by a Clark County employee. This was all caught on camera.

News 3's Elizabeth Donatelli has an update in this special report.

Juwaun Robinson, 16, got home August 1 after months in juvenile detention. He was arrested with several other for burglary but his mother says he was held significantly longer than the others.

He was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center in Las Vegas in February 2012. While there he was assaulted by a juvenile detention assistant.

Metro investigated but the district attorney's office never even got the case.

A year and a half after the incident the family is filing a lawsuit.

Robinson is back at home and in school. He's getting straight A’s and math is his favorite subject. He said he is spending his free time boxing where he can let out his aggression.

Despite what happened, he did say he was on a bad path but isn't anymore because he doesn't want to go to jail or die.
