LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A Nevada state trooper was injured shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday when his vehicle was hit by a motorist at Interstate 15 and Charleston Boulevard.
The trooper was the second NHP officer arriving on the scene of a one-car rollover when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a 35-year-old man driving a white Volvo. The force of the collision sent the second NHP vehicle into the first NHP vehicle.
The injured trooper and the man driving the Volvo were transported to UMC and were treated and released.
The driver of the Volvo was then arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, said NHP spokesman Trooper Loy Hixson.
The driver of the car that rolled was taken to UMC in critical condition.
