The Southern Nevada Health District continues to test local residents who may have been exposed to tuberculosis. News 3's Jerry Brown reports from outside Summerlin Hospital and spoke with a concerned parent getting tested.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Health officials are recommending tuberculosis testing for hundreds of babies, family members and staff who were at a Las Vegas neonatal intensive care unit this summer.

That comes after a mother and her twin babies both died of TB.

Authorities with the Southern Nevada Health District say they're working to contact people who were at Summerlin Hospital's NICU from mid-May to mid-August. A temporary clinic has been set up for testing.

Officials say a 25-year-old mother died in July and an autopsy showed she had tuberculosis. Her 3-week-old daughter died June 1 but wasn't tested for TB. Her second baby died of TB on Aug. 1.

Dr. Joe Iser of the health district says the investigation so far has identified 26 people with TB, although most of them aren't contagious.
