LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Two women were wounded this morning when they were shot while watching a soccer game at a park on the far northwest side of the valley.
Police spent the day searching for a suspect or suspects in the 11:15 a.m. incident at Teton Trails Park near Decatur Boulevard and Grand Teton Drive.
Metro police said a preliminary investigation indicated that one woman was shot in the leg while the other was grazed in her torso. Both are expected to recover from their injuries.
The weapon was a .22-caliber handgun or rifle and several shell casings were found on the ground, Metro public information Officer Marcus Martin said.
It was unclear if the shooter fired from inside the park or outside the park, Martin said.
The women, ages 39 and 48, were transported to UMC Trauma.
More than 100 people were evacuated from the park for several hours while Metro investigated, Martin said.
