LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Sara Corina Jones, who allegedly barricaded herself in her home with her one- and two-year-old children, was indicted in front of a Grand Jury today.
A police report says Jones barricaded herself inside her home after police responded to a domestic disturbance report. Jones allegedly refused to leave the house, claiming her husband framed her, and threatened to shoot one of her children and then herself.
The report says that after SWAT was called to the scene and attempted to negotiate with Jones for over 22 hours, a gunshot was heard inside the house and SWAT entered the residence. Jones was found barricaded inside the master bathroom with her one-year-old son, and her two-year-old son was outside the bathroom door.
During the indictment hearing today, it was revealed that Jones had been shot in the head during her arrest, and that she allegedly fired on SWAT officers six times during the confrontation. Sara was transported to UMC for medical treatment.
Jones has been charged on 31 counts, including eight counts of Assault with a deadly weapon, six counts of attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon, and two counts of first degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon.
