LAS VEGAS -- A National Cold War Memorial Groundbreaking and book signing takes place Saturday, Nov. 17 starting at 10 a.m. at Middle Kyle Canyon Project, Highway 157, east of the Mt Charleston Hotel.
Members of the CIA, Forest Service, Area 51 and local politicians are participating in the ground breaking of the Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial.
This is the first glimpse inside the Forest Service’s multimillion dollar Middle Kyle Canyon Project. The memorial marks a trifecta of unique Cold War history around Las Vegas.
It includes the fabulous multi-media Atomic Testing Museum, the spooky atomic test site with its wasteland of pits, houses, bridges, bunkers and modern testing. Now there is the national memorial at Mt. Charleston where the public can reflect and pay homage to the countless lives that were lost during the war.
The combination will make the Las Vegas a world-wide destination for recognizing America’s victory in the Cold War.
