NORTH LAS VEGAS -- North Las Vegas police are looking for a man accused of killing his wife last summer.
Anthony Tyron Mayo, 37, is wanted for the murder of 40-year old Beverly Mcfarlane. Investigators say on August 10 they responded to a domestic battery incident.
When they arrived police found Mcfarlane with injuries to her head, neck and abdomen from an attack two days earlier.
During the interview with officers, McFarlane was slurring her speech and unable to communicate basic identifying information. Medical responded and transported her to UMC Trauma.
The suspect fled before police arrived. Hospital staff treated McFarlane for significant brain injury and listed her in critical condition. She died on August 23, 2012.
A warrant is now out for Mayo's arrest. Police think he may be in Southern California.
Two children, ages 5 and 9, were reportedly home at the time of the attack. Child Protective Services arrived and removed both girls from the home.
Mayo is described as a black male adult, 5-foot-11, about 150 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He has family in Southern California and may be in the San Diego, Palmdale, or Los Angeles, Calif. area.
Any with information on where he may be, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
