Wintry conditions cause several accidents on State Route 160

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Winter weather conditions in the western part of the Las Vegas Valley are causing multiple accidents on State Route 160 between Las Vegas and Pahrump.

Two accidents were reported between 9:30 and 10 a.m. near mile markers 22 and 24, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol accident website.

Nevada Department of Transportation crews are treating State Route 160 in an effort to make travel conditions better.

There was a fatal accident shortly before 9 a.m. at State Route 160 and El Capitan way in the far southwest part of the valley. The accident is still under investigation and it is unknown if it was related to the weather.
