HENDERSON – A Henderson woman was struck and killed by a car while she was trying to cross Boulder Highway in a marked crosswalk early Saturday.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Hanna Esther Quinn, 19.

The driver of the car, Ricky J. Bonilla, 26, of Las Vegas was arrested for driving on a revoked license. Bonilla’s license was revoked for a previous driving while intoxicated conviction, and he was driving during the revocation period.

Bonilla was driving a 1995 Toyota Avalon southbound on Boulder Highway near Corn Street about 2:10 a.m. Saturday when he struck Quinn crossing Boulder Highway in a marked crosswalk. She died at the scene.

Bonilla voluntarily submitted to blood testing but he did not appear to be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. A preliminary investigation also indicates that speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

The southbound lanes of Boulder Highway were closed for about three hours while fatal accident investigators conducted the investigation.

So far this year there have been 10 fatal accidents resulting in 13 deaths in Henderson.
