LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the woman killed Sunday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 15 that stalled traffic attempting to exit Las Vegas Motor Speedway for hours.

Rebecca Steeprow, 31, of Las Vegas died around 2:50 p.m. Sunday when Nevada Highway Patrol officers said she lost control of her four-door Volkswagen Beetle and collided with a semitractor-trailer hauling hay on I-15 near Cheyenne Avenue.

NHP says it suspects alcohol may have played a factor in Steeprow’s death.

Southbound traffic on I-15 was reduced to one lane and fans were advised to remain in the LVMS parking lot after Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race.

The driver of the semi was transported to UMC. He was not seriously injured.

From all appearances, it looked like the VW dive bomb on to the freeway and did not even see the semi.

Granted, alcohol and driving don't mix, but for the love of GOD, be considerate to the family that lost their mother and daughter and withhold your judgement.
