LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A woman was killed shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday when she lost control of her SUV, hit several objects, and was partially ejected.
Metro said a 2004 GMC Yukon was traveling northbound on Mountain Vista near Russell Road in the right lane when its driver lost control, struck the curb and drove up onto the sidewalk.
The GMC re-entered the northbound travel lanes, struck the center median and drove into opposing southbound travel lanes. It then drove off the west side of Mountain Vista, struck a street light pole, a water main box, and block wall backing a single-family residence at 4595 Carol Circle.
The GMC rolled onto its right side, partially ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt.
The (to date) unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident was the 43rd traffic fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
The accident remains under investigation.
