LAS VEGAS (KSNV – More than 1,200 new teachers and approximately 350 long-term substitutes participated this morning in the Clark County School District's orientation event at The Venetian.

Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky and Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman were among the speakers.

During the event, the teachers participated in a variety of informational and training sessions. Special guests from Cirque du Soleil were in attendance to discuss how they partner with schools and to give new teachers access to a unique opportunity.

The facility for this event was made possible by The Venetian as well as generous donations from community partners.
