LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A hearing was scheduled today at the Regional Justice Center for the man accused of opening fire at a casino after-hours club early Monday morning, leading to the death of one patron.
Attorney Robert Beckett asked Judge Cynthia Cruz to grant a court order allowing he and his team access to the room at UMC Medical Center where the suspect, Benjamin Frazier, 41, is in a medically induced coma.
Cruz granted the request and reset a status check for Oct. 30 to check on Frazier's progress.
Police say Frazier shot and killed one man and wounded two others Monday morning when he opened fire at Drai’s Nightclub inside Bally's Hotel and Casino.
Police say Frazier suffered head trauma when other club patrons tackled and subdued him.
Beckett, who is Frazier's uncle, says he has been trying to get into his room so he can be there when Frazier wakes up.
