LAS VEGAS — Work to install storm drain infrastructure on Grand Teton Drive between Durango Drive and Rainbow Boulevard begins today. The work will include the installation of underground box culverts, large, underground, concrete channels that carry water to the Las Vegas Wash.
The work will begin at Grand Teton and Durango and move toward Rainbow where it will be completed. The project is expected to last 15 months and will help to alleviate flooding in the area during heavy rainfall events.
One open traffic lane will be maintained on Grand Teon during the work, but motorists should expect delays. Farm Road can be used as an alternative route.
The contractor on the project is Las Vegas Paving, and the $11.7 million project is funded by the Regional Flood Control District and the city of Las Vegas.
