LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) — Dozens of local veterans from World War II and the Korean War are home after an all-expenses paid trip to the nation's capital through Honor Flight Southern Nevada.

Some of the veterans returning Sunday afternoon to McCarran International Airport say the gratitude they got on this trip was overdue and overwhelming.

Honor Flight Southern Nevada is a non-profit organization founded in June 2013, as a part of the national Honor Flight Network, created solely to honor America's veterans for all their sacrifices.

Honor Flight Southern Nevada is an all-volunteer organization funded by public donations. Its next flight is scheduled for Oct. 3-5.
