LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – The Clark County coroner’s office has released the identities of several people killed over the weekend.

Maricela Faurrieta Saurez, 34, of Las Vegas, was found dead just before 6 a.m. Saturday on the 1200 block of Fairchild Street, just north of East Washington Avenue across from Brookman School. She died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The death was the 71st homicide investigated by Metro this year. Anyone with information is urged to call Metro's Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521, or email at homicide@lvmpd.com.
  • Shannon Lee Pool, 33, of Las Vegas was killed shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday when she lost control of her SUV, hit several objects, and was partially ejected.
Metro said a 2004 GMC Yukon was traveling northbound on Mountain Vista near Russell Road in the right lane when its driver lost control, struck the curb and drove up onto the sidewalk.

The GMC re-entered the northbound travel lanes, struck the center median and drove into opposing southbound travel lanes. It then drove off the west side of Mountain Vista, struck a street light pole, a water main box, and block wall backing a single-family residence on the 4500 block of Carol Circle.
  • Kenneth Alan Johnson, 34, was killed Friday after fleeing officers during a traffic stop in North Las Vegas.
According to a news release, officers attempted to stop Johnson just after 1:30 a.m. driving a moped near Ann Road and Camino Al Norte. He refused to stop, leading officers on a low-speed vehicle pursuit.

During the pursuit, Johnson abandoned his vehicle in the front yard of a home in the 700 block of Rio Royal Way and continued fleeing on foot. In the 6000 block of Revere, Johnson turned and confronted officers drawing what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun. The officer closest in proximity to the suspect shot him multiple times. He was transported to UMC Trauma where he later died.

Investigators recovered a pellet gun that was a replica of a black semi-automatic handgun from the shooting scene. A backpack that the suspect abandoned during the pursuit was also recovered. It contained an additional replica of a black semi-automatic handgun.
