LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak is promising another investigation into a helicopter ride controversy involving the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Metro says two officers broke department rules when they took Guns N’ Roses guitarist D.J. Ashba for a ride as part of an elaborate proposal to his girlfriend,

The August ride came to light after Ashba posted a picture on his Instagram account, thanking Metro and Capt. Dan O’Leary personally.

O’Leary retired rather than face demotion. The pilot, Ray Horsley, isn't allowed to fly anymore for the department.

The six-paragraph release from Metro doesn't say who set it up or who paid for all that.

Sisolak says he wants answers. ”The public has a right to know, get enough information,” he said.

With this being an election year, Sisolak says Metro needs to explain who paid for the ride and set it all up.

Sisolak says this also raises questions about transparency and how the new sheriff will deal with matters such as this and releasing information to the public.
