LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – One person is dead after a shooting Thursday night near North Nellis Boulevard and East Cheyenne Avenue.

According to a Metro news release, officers were dispatched just before 11:40 p.m. to the 3400 block of Marion Drive to investigate a report of an injured man lying on the sidewalk.

Arriving officers located the victim, identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as 24-year-old Dan E. Archie, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers determined that Archie had been shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Algiers, and walked to the location where he was found.

Detectives say that Archie was seen with three other men in the parking lot of the apartment complex. A verbal altercation reportedly took place between some of the men, and multiple shots were heard. The victim then left the area on foot and ultimately succumbed to his injuries on the sidewalk on Marion Drive.

No suspects have been identified, and the motive is unknown.
