LAS VEGAS —
The main focus of tonight’s First Tuesday program from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department aims to educate parents, grandparents and the general public about narcotics that are commonly abused by school-aged kids, and how to identify them.
Each area command will educate attendees about the ever-changing world of narcotics that kids can be exposed to. There also will be information about how to prepare for natural disasters.
Metro’s Emergency Management experts and Crime Prevention Specialists will give residents information about the top hazards Las Vegans face in honor of Disaster Preparedness Month.
First Tuesday is an open house program that takes place on the First Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at LVMPD area commands
. Everyone is welcome to attend.
After discussing the assigned topic, citizens will be able to learn more about their neighborhood and meet their local police officers.
