LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) –
One man is dead after a shooting behind a busy grocery store Wednesday night in the northeast part of the city.
According to a Metro news release, patrol officers were dispatched around 8:50 p.m. to an alleyway behind a business on the 4900 block of East Sahara Avenue to investigate reports of gunfire and a subject down on the ground. Arriving patrol officers located an adult male in an alleyway deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
The investigation initiated by Metro's Homicide Section indicates the victim was walking in the alleyway behind the store and encountered two other males in the alleyway. The preliminary information suggests a verbal altercation took place between the victim and two suspects, a shot is fired, and the suspects drive away from the scene at a high rate of speed.
The suspects can only be described as unknown race males. One suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt and jeans, and the other suspect was last seen wearing a gray shirt and unknown color shorts. The suspect vehicle can only be described as a dark-colored sedan and it was observed leaving the scene at a high rate of speed heading eastbound on Sahara Avenue.
The identity of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
