LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A suspect has been arrested in the shooting death of a man outside a housing complex Saturday morning near North Jones and West Lake Mead boulevards.

Stacey Thomas, 27, was arrested Tuesday and charged with open murder with a deadly weapon. She is scheduled to appear in court at 8 a.m. Thursday.

According to a Metro news release, officers received a 911 call just after 3:40 a.m. of a male, later identified as Demario Charles Hughes, 17, on the ground in a housing complex in the 6200 block of Ilanos Lane. Arriving police and medical personnel found Hughes suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation initiated by Metro’s Homicide Section indicates Hughes was inside of a vehicle with an unknown subject. He was later seen falling out of the passenger’s side of the vehicle. An unknown female came out of the driver’s side of the vehicle, walked over to the male, and then drove away.

This is the 82nd homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2014. Anyone with information regarding this Homicide is urged to call Mero’s Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521, or email at homicide@lvmpd.com. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
